A triste história da gatinha Amabella, de 8 anos, partiu o coração de milhares de internautas, em um vídeo viral compartilhado no TikTok, no dia 3 de agosto.

Amabella precisou ser devolvida para o abrigo após seu tutor perder a casa e ser forçado a morar nas ruas. A gatinha foi entregue por seu ex-tutores ao Humane Society Of Broward County, um abrigo de cães em Fort Lauderdale, nos Estados Unidos, e desenvolveu uma depressão que a deixou mais retraída.

Amabella e seu dono viveram juntos em um caminhão por duas semanas antes de seu dono decidir que era melhor para ambos se Amabella morasse com uma nova família”, comentou Susan Leonti, especialista em marketing digital da Humane Society of Broward County, ao postal Newsweek.

O vídeo, compartilhado nas redes sociais, mostrou momentos da gatinha no abrigo, e um cartaz que contava sua história para estimular a pet a ser adotada.

Não sei se aguento mais isso. Meu pai perdeu a casa e eu me mudei para um caminhão com ele. Depois de um tempo, ele achou que seria melhor para mim se eu encontrasse uma nova casa. Sinto falta dele. Dormimos juntos sob seu cobertor e sinto falta de seu amor. Agora estou sozinha nesta jaula esperando que alguém me escolha”, dizia a impressão.

Susan comentou que o comportamento da felina mudou completamente ao ser separada do antigo tutor. “Ela começou a se esconder mais de nós e não estava mais buscando nossa atenção ou demonstrando desejo de brincar ou interagir. Ela até ignorou as guloseimas que lhe daríamos”, relatou.

Apesar do início triste, esse não foi o fim da história da gatinha. Após a repercussão do primeiro vídeo, que rendeu 2.5 milhões de visualizações, Amabella foi adotada por uma família que assistiu o registro comovente de sua história e decidiu acolhê-la.
